Come see the Donnybrooks at O’Toole’s Restaurant & Pub this Saturday @ 9PM
As the crisp fall air rolls in and temps are low — let The Donnybrooks warm you up with some friendly traditional Irish music. If you stick around long enough, you’ll even hear covers of a few Americana faves (Donnybrooks style).
We’ll see you there!
Hi,
We’ve made some updates to the calendar. Please check them out.
Thanks,
Eric
We’ve added some new banner images, thanks to Tony and Meredith for the professional photo shoot and getting the images worked up for display on the web.
The Donnybrooks are currently working hard to put together a demo cd between gigs and vacations.
WE HAVE T-SHIRTS for sale! Until we can put something up on the site contact Ginger for your Donnybrooks T-Shirt! Thanks to Sallie for her logo design.
More to come. The music is up and working again and the site is now hosted on new servers.
Thanks for your support!
Wow, talk about getting’ your Irish on. We just finished up a frenetic pace of gigs that has pushed us just about to the limit. From Saturday 3/14 until Sat 3/21 “the Little String Band that Could” logged nine gigs all while being full time parents and gainfully employed (well, sort of). By Sunday 3/22 my fretting hand was about twice its normal size and my voice was just ragged. Thank goodness St Pat’s only comes once a year.

As we look forward to spring, we’re considering some new venues and a few more weekend gigs. Watch this space for updates. There are also plans in the works for a Donnybrooks EP and I’ll update as that moves closer to becoming a reality. For the now though, we’re still at Rare Olde Times Irish Pub every Tuesday night from 8:00 until 10:30. If you can only make it once a month, try shooting for the first Tuesday of the month as that is when most of our friends and family are there resulting in a raucous evening of partying. If the pints are flowing and the crowd seems receptive, we might even get Sandy to lead us all in a stirring rendition of The Unicorn Song. Sláinte!
Well St Pat’s has come and gone and what a wonderful time it was for the Donnybrooks’ family. I’ve lost count of how many gigs we played and the pint count got up there pretty high as well (or so I’m told)… Still, a fine time was had by all and we’ve got quite a bit on our plate as we head into the weekend with appearances at the annual Richmond Irish Festival and then a Saturday night gig at Rare Olde Times.
A big Donnybrooks’ thank you to John O’Toole for his hospitality. We played at O’Toole’s last Saturday night (3/14) and then again on St Pat’s and wow, what a great time. Just a wonderful crowd, ready to sing along, very appreciative, and we can’t wait to go back. A huge bonus for us was the chance to hook up again with our buddies The Havers who had their fiddler pal with them (sorry, but I didn’t get her name) and Mike B wailing away on that sweet-sounding cajon; an exceptional upbeat set from those rockin’ Irish lads from the Tidewater.
Also kudos go out to our good friends at JJ’s Grill in Glen Allen where we close up our St Pat’s celebration. Great food and good times there as we performed to a packed house. We’re looking forward to a return there sometime later in the Spring.
That’s all for now, we’ll see y’all down at the festival where we’ll be the opening act just after the parade. Drop by and see us if you can and Erin Go Bragh.
The new calendar page is up. Please check out the dates for our upcoming gigs! You’ll have plenty of chances to see us in March:
